Homework
Reading
This is the most important part of our homework. We are currently assessing reading levels and children will shortly be bringing reading books home. It is an expectation that children read regularly with an adult. The children will receive a record sheet for the adult to sign (and comment if they wish) when they have heard a child read.
Spelling
Here are our first spelling lists. Please let your child choose the list that they wish to learn. An important part of this process is making sure that children know what the word means and using it in a sentence that they can explain to the teacher

Choose the word list that best fits your learning. You have one week to learn your spellings and use the word
in a sentence. Choose only ONE list! The test will be on Friday.
Ms. Emmi will also be giving some Maths activities to reinforce classroom learning.
Maths
Y5 spent their week developing their skills in place values and number skills. Each learner chose a goal for the week which was followed by activities that would align with accomplishing their goal. What a great way to show learner agency!
Next week we will continue with place value and number skills but focusing on a different goal under this tough concept.
