Week beginning 16th March

This week has been a real learning curve for all of us with the start of online learning using Google Classroom. Please help your child check and complete their assignments. They must submit their work when it is completed. Many children have not completed all of their learning. Please encourage them to catch up over the weekend.

We are still learning about Myths and legends

Thinking about the big picture. Next week, the children will be learning about some major global issies using materials from the BBC in the UK such as overfishing, plastic waste and global warming. This is our starting point.

Next week's focus will be:

• I can solve problems involving multiplication and division including using their knowledge of factors and multiples, squares and cubes. 
• I can solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts, deciding which operations and methods to use and why. 

This week in maths, we focused on multiplication and division. As this is a revisited concept throughout the year, everyone had their own pace and work for them in stations. Although we went to online learning on Wednesday we have managed to keep this concept going for the week.

Next week, we will continue with online learning. Each day your child will receive a word problem and a maths problem that is based on their ability. I will also be sending out an email with the focus on next week project which is based on writing their own word problems using the above standards. Plus additional work will be given as an option for those who are looking for more to do as a bonus.
